Are there any exemptions?

We are under the impression from the Board that there may be a few:

  1. One who reaches the age of 70+ and who does not have a business permit may request a waiver from the Board.

  2. Instructors teaching the course and who hold a license must request a waiver at the time they submit their sign-in sheets and certification from a completed course to the Board.

However, any exemptions, if at all, are solely at the discretion of the Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors.

Are the seminars held in six consecutive weeks?

No, they are not. We have considered the commitments our applicants may have made and their family obligations. Therefore, we will schedule six four-hour seminars over a time period of the three years so that will translate into being notified by post card every two-three months when one will be held near you.

How will we be notified?

You will be notified by post card. It will indicate the date, registration time, the location and the subject based on the current edition of the code. So, even though the subject may be one you may have had in the last code cycle, you could be presented the same subject updated to the currently adopted code in New Jersey.

When do I send in my payment?
